Happy Birthday and Happy Mother's Day

Each year my birthday falls very close to Mother's Day and this year was no different. My birthday was the day before Mother's day so I had a big weekend to celebrate. I sort of get a little bummed that my bday falls so closely to Mother's day because really those are the only two days all year that are "my" days. However, Thomas does a fabulous job of making sure that the days do not get combined and that I do get two full days of being catered to! This year I started my bday out by getting a pedicure with one of my best friends, Carrie. It was fabulous not only because it was much needed but it was a much needed one hour break of careless chatting and just being pampered. Then that evening Thomas took me out on a date to Jinsei in Soho. It was excellent! The food was so fabulous that the fabulously high price tag did not even matter to us! I really enjoyed our time together and I would recommend it to anyone that has not been. I enjoyed some great gifts from Thomas for both my birthday and Mother's day but I will say the best gift of all was my birthday card from the kiddos. It was seriously the sweetest thing ever and it just made my day. It was one of those cards that when you open it you hear a message that was recorded. This message was recorded by my sweet Sarah Kathryn...it said "I love you Mommy", only it was said in the sweetest voice you have ever heard! Thanks to everyone that made my birthday and 3rd Mother's Day so special.

Also, on my birthday was the first day of swim lessons for Sarah Kathryn. This is something that Thomas is taking her to each Saturday for six weeks. She has really enjoyed it and all she talks about is the water and kick, kick, kick. She was a little timid at first but warmed up real fast and has done great. They sing songs, kick, learn to float, blow bubbles, go under the water, jump off the side, etc.

Matthew also slept through the night for the first time the night before my birthday, what a great gift!! He is not doing this consistently but he is giving us more and more sleep each night!
