Happy 2nd Birthday, Matthew!

Matthew turned 2 on April 2nd but his actual birthday was not so fabulous because he came down with the flu. We had originally decided to have his party on April 14th but then Sarah Kathryn had the flu. So, this past weekend we were able to reschedule and have his party rain free!! All week we thought we would have to cancel again because the weather forecast was looking so bad. I decided to have a barnyard theme because Matthew loves animals, especially horses. I was able to find a company that will come to your house and bring a big horse and a little pony for the kids and adults to ride. It was a blast and surprisingly almost all the kids actually rode the horses. Matthew had been telling me all week that he was not going to ride the horse but that bebe (Sarah Kathryn) would ride it! He pulled through and even rode it with myself and my father-in-law. Everything about the party was barnyard themed and of course I loved planning it.

I can not believe that Matthew is actually 2! He is still the sweetest little boy that I know. He continually shares with his sister even when she won't share with him. He gives the best kisses and then will follow with saying "hug" and give the greatest hug. I could squeeze this boy all day long! His vocabulary has really taken off in the last month and is able to verbalize what he wants really well. He is still sleeping in his crib and loves it so we won't be making the move until it is completely necessary. He is not a huge eater but he LOVES the fruit/veggie happy tot pouches. He eats them like they are going out of style. Matthew is so different from SK and is ALL boy which is fun for Thomas. We envision him going hunting and fishing with Thomas in years to come. He loves to play with balls and throw things (and play in the dirt!). He loves any kind of yucky animal (frogs, lizards) and he will make the noise of the animal and act like he is going to "get" you...it is hilarious! He wants to do everything that his big sister does which has made him do things much sooner than SK ever did. He is still my laid back baby and is just so easy going. I really wish he could stay this age forever!  Although, most days are pretty hectic I could not imagine life without either of them. They are so easy to love!
