Christmas 2010 (Christmas Eve and Morning)

Warning Picture Overload!!!

This year we were actually here in Birmingham for Christmas!! It was so much fun to be home but we were very busy trying to balance spending time with both sides of our families. For Christmas Eve we celebrated at our church with my in-laws and then headed over to my parents house for dinner. We had a great time and enjoyed fabulous food. This year was special because my mom's mother came into town to visit us...she is 89, doesn't she look great!

The next morning, we celebrated with my parents again at our house and did Santa gifts as well as all the other gifts. Sarah Kathryn came out of her room looked over from above into the great room and kept saying "look at all the stuff", "look at all the stuff"....it was so cute. She was super excited! She started out by coming down and checking to see if Santa had eaten her cookies and drank his chocolate milk, which he did, of course:) Both of the kids are so spoiled and got everything they wanted plus so much more. Seriously, it took us almost 2.5 hours to open all the gifts under the tree but it was oh sooo much fun!! I think things will change but SK would get so into one gift that she would then not want to open the next. She got lots of princess things and of course the grocery store that she asked Santa for. She loves everything. Matthew even got some cool toys that he has enjoyed too. We all sat down for a big breakfast and then it was off to get ready to go to my in-laws for the rest of the day!

We have been so blessed this year by so many things. It still amazes me that this time last year our little guy was still in my tummy and now he lights up the room with his smile. We are so thankful for both of our kids, our families and our sweet friends.

Please be in prayer for my Papa because two days before Christmas he fell down the stairs and ended up having surgery on Christmas Eve. He is doing better but it will be a long road before he is able to walk again using both legs. I hope that he keeps his spirits high and allows others to help as much as possible. This will be a big undertaking for my Nana to take care of him so please be in prayer for her as well. Thanks!

I hope that each of you had a Merry Christmas!! I love that if you ask Sarah Kathryn whose birthday we celebrate on Christmas she can tell you "Jesus' Birthday"!! So sweet!
