Zoo

Last weekend (when it was actually nice weather) we took Sarah Kathryn to the zoo. She got a zoo pass for her birthday and we are excited that we were already able to use it! This was our first trip to the zoo where I think she actually really enjoyed looking at the animals. She asked to see certain ones and of course wanted to ride the train. She especially loved all the lions, tigers and monkey's. I kept talking up the kangaroo's because she had just gotten a book on kangaroo's but she was not too fond of them and I was not either (they scare me a little).

We are now approaching our last weekend as a family of 3. Next Friday (April 2nd) baby Matthew will be joining our family. I have a scheduled c-section since I had one last time and it is for 8am on April 2nd. So, if you think about it, please say a prayer for me and for Matthew. We pray that I will not be super nervous and that the baby will be healthy. Anyway, this last weekend we are trying to do some fun things with just Sarah Kathryn. Tonight, we had to go to the mall so she ate at her favorite place (McD's) and then rode on the carousel. She had to ride on the frog and kept telling the frog to go!! When I watched her get off, she put her hand on the frog and said sweetly, "bye frog". Sarah Kathryn has also become obsessed with school. She will talk about it all week and we only go two days. On Wednesday, when I went to get her she would not leave because she was having so much fun on the playground. We had a few tears as we were heading to the car.

I also took SK to her 2 year well visit this week. We have a growing girl!! She weighs herself at home all the time so I expected her to be 25-26lbs, oh was I wrong! She now weighs 28lbs and is 34 inches tall. She is in the 50% for both weight and height. The doctor asked her a series of questions to see how well she was talking and her answers were somewhat funny. She asked if she brushes her teeth at home. Well, with our mouth accident that we had last month we have now been to the dentist 3 times. So, when asked she replied by pointing to her teeth and saying "Dr. Mike". Her doc's name is Mike so we refer to him as Dr. Mike; however, it can be somewhat confusing because her uncle's name is Mike and he is also a dentist. Anyway, she did great and does not have to go back for a whole year.

I think that is all that we have been up to lately. I am just growing bigger each day and feel like I am going to pop at anytime. The next post will likely be of our new addition. Oh, also keep Sarah Kathryn in mind because this could be a big transition for her and I am having a hard time thinking about leaving her for 4 nights even though she will be with grandparents (I have never been away from her for more than 1 night).

Matthew will be an Easter baby! I will definitely be praying for a smooth delivery and a healthy Matthew. Also for SK to be at ease in her new roll as big sister. Have fun welcoming the new addition.
