She reads!

Ok, so I am officially a slacker. Sorry for the lack of posts lately but I just have not taken many pictures and have not been motivated to blog! We have been keeping busy at the Picardy household, playing, learning to say more and more words, using kitchen utensils at dinner, and even getting a little bigger:)

Sarah Kathryn loves to read and this is how we found her this past Saturday morning. Her favorite words right now are doggy, Jess (our cat), Dada (she says it all day long), mama and moo. It amazes me how many new words she has picked up in just the last couple of weeks. However, when she learns a new word she is stuck on it for a while and it becomes the default for everything!

We will be starting Mother's Day Out the week of Labor day and Sarah Kathryn will go two mornings a week. I am nervous to send her but I think it will be well needed for both her and mommy.

Sarah Kathryn's Uncle Mike and Aunt Karen came to visit us this past weekend but I don't have any pictures yet. I actually did not get my camera out once. We enjoyed a wonderful meal at Ocean (adults only) and just relaxed and visited.

We also celebrated Thomas' 32nd Birthday last week. His mom always makes him a special cake each year but I have been too scared to make it up until this point. It is a recipe from his grandmother and it is a very tricky cake to make. After two attempts it turned out great. The icing and homemade whipped cream turned out on the first try but that dang cake was the issue. Thomas appreciated that I made it and I just hope he does not expect me to make it all the time now that I know how.
