We have a Walker!!!

So-- for awhile now Sarah Kathryn has been taking steps. Then all of a sudden this past Sunday she just started taking off and now she is on the move. She still crawls when she has fallen but she is walking from toy to toy and person to person. It makes me nervous because when she gets close to her destination she begins to speed up and that causes collisions! To prepare for Sarah Kathryn's new skill we went and purchased her first "real" pair of walking shoes. We went to Sike's Shoes (a local children's shoe store that has been around forever) and got Sarah Kathryn her new kicks. We got there first thing Saturday morning and we were surprised at how crowded this little place was. It was overflowing with little ones all excited to get some new shoes. The lady that helped us could tell that it was the first time Sarah Kathryn had her foot measured so she got out the camera and snapped a shot.

Just to catch everyone up on the last couple of weeks...

The Picardy family is so glad that last week is OVER. Thomas and I had what we thought was food poisoning but it may have actually been the stomach bug. I really have never been this sick in my life and to make things worse, both Thomas and I had it at the exact same time. I literally was passing out on the bathroom floor just hoping to stand up long enough for Thomas to hear me calling for him. I was so scared that I would be left for dead on our bathroom floor! ha,ha! No really, we were really sick and thankfully Thomas' parents came over at 5:30 in the morning to take care of SK since I knew I could not make it up the stairs let alone try to care for her. Then my parents came over to take the rest of the afternoon. I am so thankful that we have both sets of grandparents in town because they are a huge help in a time of crisis!! After recovering from the stomach bug, I then thought I broke my tailbone. False alarm but it still hurts, I just bruised it very badly. The steroid and muscle relaxer shots seemed to help a lot until they wore off!! Anyway, that is the gist of our week last week. We are back to normal again.

One more day and my grandparents will be in town for the big #1!!! We can't wait to see Great Nana and Great Papa...what a treat!
