Sarah Kathryn meets Santa

Play group Christmas Picture

Ella Kate and Sarah Kathryn

I think I say this each month but I really can not believe that Sarah Kathryn is so close to being a year old, it truly goes by so fast! This month has brought a lot of firsts! We now have 4 teeth, two on the top and two on the bottom. Sarah Kathryn has started to do the "army crawl" and has begun to pull up on things. She waves occasionally and says lots of "words". Her favorite words are da duh, ma mah and na nah...she has no clue what she is saying since the majority of the day she says da duh and I always have to tell her that da duh is at work! We also had our first cold this month which was not fun. I felt like I had a newborn all over again but this was much harder. We were up all night one night because the poor thing could not breath. Sarah Kathryn has grown so much this month. She used to be so short but now she is in the 75% for her height at 28 1/2 inches long. She is still pretty petite and in the 40% for weight (18lbs). It amazed us how well she did at the doctor this month. She had to get her toe pricked and squeezed and she just watched in amazement! Sarah Kathryn keeps me so busy each day and I am constantly running after her because she is always getting into something that she shouldn't be. She wants anything that is not hers but especially loves anything that is paper related...she loves the mail! She also loves my sewing machine and its many cords. It has become more difficult to diaper her because she wants to roll over each time. So, we now have to occupy her with the nasal spay, lotion, diaper cream, etc!

Thomas and I took Sarah Kathryn to meet Santa this week. It was funny because Sarah Kathryn and I had just left our weekly play group where we took a group picture of all the kids and she hated it. Then we get to the mall and she sits with Santa and is all smiles for the camera.

Above you will see our play group picture or what is an attempt to a picture. Sarah Kathryn and I go to a play group with our friends from our church Sunday School class. I absolutely love going but often times SK is not in the best mood as it is during her nap time! I still make her go because it is the one day each week that we get out and I can socialize with friends. We have been so lucky to have such great friends and such fun conversation each week. Some weeks we have lots of fun and then other weeks we have lots of melt downs...it keeps us guessing!

Last night we had our Christmas dinner with our good friends the Felton's. Jennifer made a great meal and we had so much fun as always. This year Ella Kate and Sarah Kathryn exchanged Christmas gifts. Sarah Kathryn got her first "real" toy. She got a stroller walking toy and I just love it! SK is doing a great job of pulling up on it and it will be fun for her when she can walk behind it with a baby riding in the front! SK got Ella Kate a dress up trunk with some Disney character costumes. I think she liked it but I am sure that Jennifer was ready to kill us! We saw each outfit on at least two times last night! I am so thankful for my friendship with Jennifer especially since I have become a stay- at- home mom. It is nice to be able to talk to someone almost everyday and get a lot of good mom advice.

We are gearing up for Christmas which is creaping up much faster this year than in years past. We will be flying to see my brother and sister-in-law in COLD Milwaukee. We look forward to visiting and for Mike and Karen to see how big SK has gotten since August. However, I will say that I am not looking forward to our flights! The last time we flew with Sarah Kathryn she was much smaller and not so mobile. So, our upcoming flights should be interesting but the trip will be worth it. We wish everyone a Merry Christmas!
