Happy 6 months Sarah Kathryn and Happy Baby Dedication!!

Today was a big day for Sarah Kathryn, not only did she hit the 6 month mark but she was also dedicated to the Lord. She did so great and I must say that I never give her enough credit before hand because I always worry about how she will behave. She was an angel at church and she loved being in front of everyone. Even though she let out a huge yawn while up in front of the church she still did not make a sound. The past 6 months have flown by and it is amazing to me that we have had this bundle of joy in our lives for half a year. I had to pack up some of her 3 month clothes several weeks ago and I almost had a break down. She is seriously "Miss personality" and "Miss drama queen". She has a mind of her own already which is great but not so great when she wants her way. She would be the absolute perfect baby if she would just learn to take naps!! She sleeps every night all the way through for 12 hours (she has been doing this for months) but she gives me a good fight each day to go down for a nap/naps. She literally is the nosiest baby I have ever met...she does not want to miss a thing. Sitting up on her own is just around the corner and she wants to crawl so badly so I anticipate this happening soon as well. Toys in the last couple of weeks have become much more interesting to Sarah Kathryn. She is finally really enjoying her exersaucer and Nana and Papa just got her the Jump and Go, which I think is her favorite toy. She loves to be standing instead of sitting so I believe that is why she likes the jump and go and exersaucer better than any of the other baby gadgets we have. She loves her mom and dad but Nana can always get the best smile out of her-- better than anyone. She giggles and flashes grins and then gets shy and buries her face in whoever is holding her, it is so cute.

Sarah Kathryn was dedicated today at church and after we had a celebration at our home. Our closest friends came over to share this special day with us. We had a great time and I was so thankful that my parents were able to extend their trip to stay for her big day. We also got big news that as of August 31st, my dad retired. So, that means that Nana and Papa will be moving to the "HAM" in about a month. Papa will be getting another job for a few more years since he is not officially ready to retire yet but that will put them in the same town and we are elated. I am so glad that Sarah Kathryn will grow up knowing both sets of her grandparents. This also means that I have extra help and another set of babysitters!!!

My parents left today after a 2 week visit. They came down Friday two weeks ago because we were supposed to leave for the beach but Hurricane Fay made us push our trip back until the next Wednesday. We made it to the beach and had a wonderful week long vacation that everyone needed! We all had a wonderful time playing with Sarah Kathryn in the pool which she ended up loving. Our friends loaned us the sun dome which ended up being our life saver because Sarah Kathryn would nap in it while we were poolside. She sported 4 different bathing suit and cover-up combos! We enjoyed good food, shopping, swimming and relaxing. I look forward to the next beach trip!

So, as you can see we have been super busy at the Picardy household!! Enjoy the pictures.

Well, kiss that sweet baby girl of yours for me, and let's get together soon! Maybe you, Sarah Kathryn and I could see when Ashley and Nathan could stand our company ;) and we'll go visit with them one afternoon!

The pictures are great! It's nice to enjoy Sarah Kathryn from here in Michigan. I bet you're glad that you have another set of grandparents nearby! We plan on coming down next year to visit.
